Head of Data Science / Analytics – Advertising Technology Pioneer
A fantastic opportunity to join the mobile programmatic arm of a global leader in data driven location aware digital advertising. This hugely exciting business has a startup atmosphere but the unique backing of a much larger £billion mothership that has unique access to 1st party data. They now need a Head of Data Science and Analytics to help realise ambitions to develop a mobile data location aware programmatic advertising offering that is the best of its kind and that will dominate the industry for years to come.
As the senior data specialist for the business you will be responsible for managing a team of data scientists and analysts, for crucial operational tasks, such as building data segments, using proprietary technology, using Big Data tools, creating analytics, developing a process that can cope with high throughput of data analytics and data operations tasks, understanding custom client data and analytics requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible for R&D of in-house products requiring algorithmic data processing. Additionally, generating ideas, driving innovation and looking to automate complex data processes with cutting edge technology!
Required Skills Profile:
Some experience with Unix bash shell and/or shell scripting
Some active experience with SQL
Some experience managing a team of 2+ people or ready to get into management role
Must be process/operations oriented.
Strong attention to detail and excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical ability
BA/Bsc/Beng Degree in technical subject
Experience within digital marketing/advertising industry
Previous experience in a tech-ops or Ad Tech operations support setting is desired
Some relevant experience in analytics and data mining/modelling (preferred)
Experience with common data science tools such as R, Python, sparkML,
Scikit-learn or Mahout (preferred)
Working experience with Amazon Web Services, especially S3, EC2, EMR
Understanding of file transfer e.g. S3/SFTP/FTP/etc. (preferred)
Experience with online media and targeting a big plus
Experience in 3rd party data/DMP (preferred)
Geo-spatial experience (preferred)
Experience in Agile development team/environment
Hive and tableau visualisation experience
