Awesome Data Science opportunity in a newly formed big data team of a major national media broadcaster that is focussed on the external monetisation of data. The key aim for this role is to develop and deliver market leading analytical solutions and products and to be the senior technical lead for the big data / data science team. Responsibilities:
To build and deliver analytical solutions by analysing large and complex data sets using multiple technologies (R, SAS, SQL, IBM Big Insights, Cloud Services, Netezza DBMS, Hadoop). To visualise and deliver analytical results in insightful, interesting and interactive ways using various technologies (Excel, Powerpoint, Qlikview, R, HMTL, Javascript, Tableau). Also to conceptualise and develop new analytical algorithms and products using various statistical methods. Proactively investigate and discover new techniques, technologies and data sources to enhance Big Data capabilities. This is a key role driving the data product strategy.
Key Skills:
Machine learning and predictive analytics skills/experience
Experience programming in R and Python at least
Experience in creating technical analytical solutions
Experience in location, movement or behaviour analytics
Can communicate complex solutions to non technical audience
The ideal candidate must have experience in designing and building innovative data products and be comfortable leading and developing a technical team of analysts. The ideal profile will be an outstanding problem solver with curiosity and drive that has the ability to work well with a team and to collaborate ideas. This person will have a real enthusiasm and passion to develop and deliver ground breaking internal and external data tools and is experienced enough to identify and apply industry patterns when they occur and mature enough to share knowledge to make those around you better.
